Main aim of the course is
to provide students with a basic knowledge and an overview of World
civilizations. Students will be also able to gain knowledge of development of
the civilizations from history to the present, with particular emphasis on influential
personalities from each civilization. The development of civilizations will be
considered in its social, political and cultural contexts. Topics include various
personalities from different civilizations including Islamic, Chinese and
American civilization: İbn-i Haldun, Sigmund Freud, Lao Tse, Don Juan Matus
